Hong kong neon city

Through this photo series, I take you into the streets of Hong Kong, where the urban atmosphere and neon lights give the city a style that feels both futuristic and dystopian.

This work pays tribute to the Hong Kong of the 1980s. Most of the signs captured here have likely already disappeared: under regulatory pressure, many are being dismantled for safety and compliance reasons. Beyond these practical aspects, the city’s aesthetic itself is being reshaped, moving toward a more uniform and “modernized” image.
